Proposed Changes at Twinbrook Metrorail Station

Metro is proposing modifications at Twinbrook Station (on the west side) to support joint development, a new transit plaza, and higher ridership.

Key changes:
  • Relocation of bus loop and 3 bus bays
  • Relocation of Kiss & Ride facilities to Chapman Avenue
  • Removal of 164-space surface Park & Ride lot adjacent to current Kiss & Ride (west side)

Unchanged facilities: 418-space garage (west side) and all east-side facilities, including those surface lots. 

Goals of the project:
  • Enable residential/commercial development
  • Better integrate station into community
  • Improve rider experience and create open space

Partnership: Future joint developer will build improvements with Metro.
